Pat Warner - RIP

I just noticed that Pat Warner of Router Woodworking passed away last week on July 28,2017. Pat made quality products and was always willing to answer questions and help if he could. Sad news indeed. I had heard that he was having some health issues. Thought and prayers for his family.

Pat Warner passed away July 28, 2017. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He so enjoyed the woodworking community. Being able to contribute and share his ideas with fellow woodworkers brought him much satisfaction. He had great compassion, safety was always first, was very inventive, had a grand sense of humor and was always looking for a better way. His family will miss him forever.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I spoke with him once years ago when I
bought a couple of his books and an offset base for one of my routers.

Pat would respond to emails  back in the day and I remember thinking wow this guy has written books, practically Bibles on router use, and he would talk to me over a silly newbie question on one of his jigs.

Without him(among some others)I wouldn't be making and selling the inlays I make today. I still use some basic techniques I learned about in his books.

It's sad there won't be any more sales of his Jigs. I would think there might be a market for so much of his stuff. I can think a several companies that could make a Pat Warner section and I am sure there is money to be made. Possibly the family is working on selling off all his ideas and plans, right now all we can get is his books from Amazon and such, but nothing off his website at all.

Very sad; my condolences to his family.

When I got into woodworking about ten years ago I found his website one of the most informative and useful of them all.  My first router purchase - a DW621 - was based on his review of it.

I was very sorry to read of his passing.

  Yes, very sad news. I still have one of his router base plates for my old Porter Cable (first) router. He literally wrote the book on routers and everything he built was manufactured with precision and thought. In this age of razzle dazzle and flash, he let his products do the speaking and when needed, would respond in a timely manner. It's too bad that seems to be an anachronism today.

Very sorry to hear this news. I had always hoped to meet him and take one of his hands on classes. He brought the precision of a tool & die maker to his WW tools & jigs.

I will never forget the first time I reached out to order a router base. He traded email with me to get the details and price established, then told me that it was shipping that afternoon and to drop the check in the mail. I guess you could call him old fashioned and no-nonsense. Over the years I added his bases to every new router I purchased.

My condolences to Pat's family.

His book about routeringwas one of the very first WoodWorking books I purchased many moons ago.
I still have it on a shelf in the den where I can get my hands on it immediately.

Very sorry to hear the news.  I would visit Pat's website every couple of months to see what was new, and everything I purchased from him was very well made.

I found this video a long time ago and find myself going back to it now and then.

So sad to hear this news about Pat.  I purchased many router bases from him and they were always perfect.  He will be missed.
