Paulk miter stand for Kapex: build questions

Just downloaded the plans for the Paulk miter stand for my Kapex saw.  I have some questions:

1) Should I use staples, pocket screws, dominoes, or other?
2) What is a good fence to use: Kreg, Incra, or home built?
3) For support should I build the saw horses in the plans or I there something better/more versatile?  Store bought plastic horses, small utility tables, other?

I chose the Paulk plans because I'm a hobbyist working mostly in my basement and I like the idea of some portability but don't think the UG cart is for me (too much portability)!

I don't have the miter saw plans but I have the workbench and the 3x6 unit that supports a Kapex but also a small table saw.  I like the movable stop functionality of the latter, because they are flush with the surface.  I plan to build something along these lines for the end of my workbench where my RAS and CMS are located.  I plan another movable bench with a 3x6 top as a workbench and also a cutting surface for my track saw.  I have Paulk's crosscut jig plans which I will make for this movable bench.  The bottom will store tools and have a place for the tracksaw to sit between cuts.

For what you describe, I would make a rolling base - or possibly stationary base if your shop permits.  If you ever might want to use the Kapex away from your shop - even elsewhere in the shop putting up trim - I would think of making the saw horses. 

I would not spend the money for rails with stops that are sold for this purpose.  Paulk's plans include designs you can build yourself which will work well.  I had homemade ones in my old shop and they worked great.  Paulk is  a professional homebuilder, I think his designs are highly likely to work well.

The sawhorses are relatively low, as the workstation-top is high
If you use general purpose sawhorses, you find out the work-hight much too high. Maybe you can cut them to the right hight?

I bought the palm miter saw plans but it worried me that it was too heavy in the back and that it might tip over. I redesigned the horses so it would be more stable. I also put wedge blocks under the horses with bolts holding them to the stand and it can't fall off the horses. This makes it very stable. The footprint of the horses space the saw far enough from the wall so it won't scrape the wall. My stand is only 5 feet long because I made it out of Baltic birch.
