A few months ago, someone on FOG mentioned PB Swiss Tools as a good source for high quality screw bits for their drills.

I registered and have received a few emails regarding sales.  Well, they have another going on now.  If you're interested,
http://www.pbtools.us/

If they DO NOT offer high quality products, please let me know so I do not post again in the future.  If they do, then let others know.

Thanks.

Oh yes...the usual disclaimers apply.

How do you find the Sale stuff?

I found a "discount store" and read this amusing message from "Tiffany"

"This month I am Bringing in Spring by offering 3 special deals for my customers. First, we have our April Fool's special sale item. Second, I have a selection of our color coded tools that bring in the spring colors. Lastly, I have a selection of tools that will help just about anyone get their spring cleaning off to a good start."

And what are the tools that will help me with my Spring cleaning, rainbow colored Allen wrenches.

I've never used PB tools but they look good, even the pretty ones.  ;)

PBSwiss are the real deal. They could qualify in the "What else do you buy?" thread.

They way I lose those little screw tips I would be broke in two weeks. Even if they are better and never break,  which remains  to be seen, those are just used to expensive to be shared on the job site and to small(easily lost) for me to pay that premium price.

I keep several packs of the cheaper DeWalt screw tips  throughout the shop, as well as a tape and pencil and ear protection near every tool.
I have gone crazy looking for a pencil that was actually in my ear for hours. I guess my mind is just going.

If I had to worry about those little screw tips getting misplace at that cost I would go crazy.

Somethings are better left throw aways, for me the DeWalt screw tips and the ones I get FREE when purchasing from McFeely's have done me well.

I would love those a a gift though, Fred you missed my Birthday, want to  send me a  screw tips kit for 93.00!

Nickao

Nick, I am so sorry. When is your birthday because had I but known those tips would have been winging their way to you.  :o ::) 8) Fred PS Mine was Feb. 7 and I believe that you too missed it.  ;D

03/24/1965 is mine!

Happy B-day! I am 43 now and my eldest son is 24 going on 25, that makes me feel older than I am. Erika was so worried that darn plastic would crack , did she pack it up nice? You are getting at least two packages, hope you received both.

Have you used these screw tips?

Are they worth giving them a shot?

Nickao

And back at ya except my year is yours reversed. I just turned 52. :D Erika did a great job and everything arrived beautifully. My daughter just turned 20 three days before your b-day but as she is the light of my life I actually never feel old around her though I pretend otherwise for her sake. ;) :D ;D

I have never used the tips but have heard great things about them. However as I am with you as far as misplacing or just losing them it would kill me if I had to worry about them as well. Again, as you mentioned, given as a gift not so much worry. :o ::) 8) Fred

OK, No joke.  I do have a question.  Regarding the driver tips in the catalog what does "tip optimized for Asian screws"  mean?  ( NO Fred, this is not a softball toss to you) :D

Maybe I've just had too many cans of dumb a** lately.

Dan

Dan, thank you I actually meant to ask that as well. No clue over here.  :D Fred

Mike,

I have no idea where on the site the actual sales stuff is located.  Let me check the email I received.  Perhaps it's in the body.....  Okay, got it.

The actual page is:http://www.pbtools.us/tiff_pick.html  which is probably the page you found.

I too have never purchased anything from them.  And, like Nickao mentioned in a later email, they do look to be a bit too much on the expensive side to not worry about losing them.

However, I found the bits that came with my C12 have done a tremendous job of taking the abuse and they have not stripped a screw head yet.  If the PB Swiss screw bits are as good, or better than, the Festool bits, I'll give them at least one try.  Besides, being color-blind, the colors look real cool.  8)

Well, if use guys are sending out belated birthday presents of the PB Swiss screw bits, you can send some this way.  Mine was 3/16...

GreenGA, Happy belated birthday and I fully expect that Nick will be sending you a multitude of those little bits what with your birthdays being so close and all.  ::) :o 8) Fred

Hey Nickao, my little girl's birthday is 3-24-2005, now on her birthday, I'll have to think of you.

What a nice Birth date. My brother  is born on the same day 03/24 as I am and within 2 hours of my birth, but the following year.

Happy B-day little girl(what's her name)!

Nickao

I am sure she is worth it.

I will watch her anytime if you can watch the four I  have home right now. No school today or tomorrow! The two older kids fly the coop before they will help with the younger kids.

Nickao

Sounds like mine other three too. They will not help with the 3 yo. at all.

I kinda feel like I should mention the PB Swiss tools, so I marked the site in my favorites, and I have no handheld screwdrivers (all of my phillips walked off) so I will consider these for a set based on what I have heard on from Greg Mann.
