PDC 18/4 Percussion Drill Driver Video

I have turned down 3 offers to go commercial. The reason is simple - I would be paid to make videos and I would be expected to say that certain items were good when they might not be. Now that would break my golden rule.
I would like to say that I appreciate your passion to help others Mr. Parfitt. :)
But I still think it would be cool if you got to keep the tool, it's evident that you're a trustworthy person and I doubt any donations would compromise your integrity. Maybe I'm a little over empathetic but if I was reviewing the tool I would want to keep it (especially this PDC).

On an unrelated note, I just bought 4 lottery tickets today. If I win, one of the first things I'll do is fly to Europe and buy a PDC[/b]. I've been wanting this drill ever since the Protool-Festool merging announcement.

I hear there's a good Festool store in Amsterdam [wink] [big grin]

Another great video review.  The only bad thing is that I really want this drill and am holding out on the C15 in hopes that this comes to the states, unless I go to Europe before that happens. I tried it at Connext and JLC live and was impressive.

Just spotted that Lee Valley have the C15 - can you order from them?

I like the C15, and can get from several places, but I am holding out for the PDC.  After trying at Festool Connect, I told myself I am not adding a Festool drill until this is available in the US, or if I can convince one of the people I know that travel to Europe to pick one up.

Although I have a PDC 18-4, I also have a C15. The C15 has amazing control - both is another good option [wink]

I have the C15 on my hit list together with the CXS. I will certainly do a product tour and review of both machines later this year.

Thanks for the review on the PDC 18/4 set, and after much thought on the matter festool drill choices I think I'll go for the PDC 18/4 as my general to heavy driving and large diameter drilling in wood, occasional concrete, brick, and steel, and stone drilling machine. The 4.2 ah batteries will work in my Carvex, which at present seems a little underpowered with the 15v 3 ah battery I bought it with.. The PDC 18/4 XL kit comes  with all the accessories included in the normal set plus the Depth stop chuck which works both with screws and hex head fasnters..

I enjoyed your fastpaced and informative review here! Thanks!

Regards

Wade

Many thanks Wade. I agree that these 4.2 Ah 18 v batteries really do transform the 15v version of the PSC420 Carvex. I used the drill a couple of weeks ago to re-roof a friends huge shed (small stable block) and I put in over 1400 screws and I have still not recharged it.
