I have had my CXS 18 for a bit now and there are a few things that need improved. I feel we could use a gen 2. The biggest issue for me is the trigger. It often times will pinch my finger. This is not a pleasant experience. This is not an issue with any other drill/driver I have used. Another thing that is an issue is chuck runout. I get that the removable nature of the chucks adds more possibility of runout. I don't know if it is the nature of Fast Fix or just my unit but the Jacobs style chuck and Centrotec chucks have a good bit of runout. An arguably unacceptable amount for precision drilling. My M12 Installation driver felt like it had less runout than the CXS 18. One of the alleged features of Centrotec is the lower runout when compared to 1/4 inch hex and I wasn't impressed. I have also heard some complaints about the noise signature of the CXS 18. I wont say it is bad or good but if Festool can fix whatever the noise complaints were then great. I also wouldn't mind having the tool benefit from the TBX batteries. Festool isn't known for having the most powerful drill/drivers but if they are closer to the competition in the torque numbers, that wouldn't be a bad thing. Of course I would only want this if it doesn't compromise the rest of the user experience.
