Came up in my YouTube subs, haven't had time to watch (18 minutes long!). Never seen the PDC go up against the more mainstream brands, so this should be interesting to watch.

I watched the battery vid in part one and he has pretty good info in there.

Yes I spoke to roger about the test when he said the pdc wasn't as good in the first test I asked him if he had the torque adjustment either to the hard  far left or right and he didn't notice where it was in the test but he was going to relook at it

Issues like this by the testers are why I find these tests meaningless.

He went through the trouble of boring all of those holes but didn't quantify the number of holes or speed that he was able to drill them. Seems odd... I was expecting to have him provide a chart with some analytical data to indicate capabilities and battery life.

Me too. I'm assuming all that will be in the concluding part... [huh]

I agree that these tests are meaningless and very few tests are accurate.  I believe that PDC excels in certain situations with its versality  I have a lot of Milwaukee m18 fuel drills that do great in the field but a PDC in a systainer with all its attachments is a life saver so I have 2 sets and will not go without them regardless of the test results...

Hmm, not exactly stellar performance though is it?

If some people are to be believed its a real wrist breaker.

It is a wrist breaker, if you're not careful. Assuming he sorts out the clutch operation, let's see what happens when he throws that auger bit into it.  [scared] [popcorn]

It looks very intentional to me.  He wants you to subscribe and keep watching.  What could be conveyed in a single video is being stretched into a soap opera.  Even in the single video he keeps baiting you along.

I think you YouTube viewing time will be better invested in funny cat videos.

The worth of a tool is whether it does what you need of it ...

He said that the next test with auger bit surprised him from the first test that's why he's double checking the settings.

I think it would of been a horrible job counting all the holes due to it taking  an age and lot of wood.

I did a reroof on a stable last summer metal sheeting screwed down with 75mm tec bolts/screws and one battery did over 600 screws on speed 3

I'm not too surprised about how the PDC is doing in this test. I have returned my PDC and is my only returned Festool product. I ended up buying the Milwaukee Fuel drill. Now it does not have the right angle chuck or some other nice Festool features. Also, I own the TI 15 and the CSX and use them a lot so I do know about the other features.

The PDC and the Makita in this test are complete different animals,
I've owend both and a lot of these tests are about sheer strength which the Makita exceeds at. The Makita has a lot less Electronics within it and will power through everything, where as the PDC will beep out, but the PDC has a higher top speed than the Makita
What these type of tests don't do is look at the finer points of the drill like chuck run out, My Makita had a lot of wobble where as the PDC runs very straight.
I like my PDC as a kit with all the accessories  and take it everywhere on installs but if I was only working on site doing 1st fix I'd choose the Makita.

Man I wish he was testing the Fein.  You know, the one with the 4 speed gearbox that Toolnut was giving away recently.  I tested mine in plywood on speed 3 just to see and it was eating it alive.  Now I have a huge mess on the floor.

Fair comment there, he is a bit tedious at getting to the damn point.
