People like this annoy me

Generally Ebay prohibits such listings unless they genuinely have some relationship to the "add on" term. Used to be that you saw a lot more of it ie: Dewalt Drill, not Festool, Makita, Bosch, etc. I think that they have really clamped down on such practices.

Yeah there is a term for that practice, can't think of it now. But I am pretty sure it is something that can be reported to e bay about the seller. They will send a warning if found to be an accurate complaint.  In this case the seller would probably just need to drop Festool and any others that don't make an SDS drill.

It's called key word spamming, and yes it's a violation of ebay policy.

[laughing] [laughing] [laughing] Love it.

I have just had my first bad experience on eBay not too bad but still a pain. I ordered a set of quick connectors for my new air hose only £5 inc postage. I was told it had shipped but quite a long time after nothing had arrived. I messaged the seller but had no reply so messaged again still no reply. I had to open a case to which the guy refunded me the next day . Its just annoying being messed around by these idiots.

I strongly recommend the Hammerex SDS600 FEQ over the DrillexSDS400. It has a better DC shroud and will do the larger as well as smaller jobs.  [thumbs up]  It is a good idea to use the new bags iin the CT due to the fine dust.  I just hope it gets through UL soon  ::)

For all the "improvements" eBay has done, they've gotten a lot worse, especially for sellers - in my opinion.  I've been on there since December 1998.  Pretty much seen it all and experienced it too.

I've only dealt a handfull of times through eBay before comming to the conclusion I don't like it at all. Our local website www.marktplaats.nl has a much more open system which I prefer a lot more. You can bid without obligations for both the seller and buyer, no time limit that leads to those stupid last second bids, and you can contact the seller directly. No fees either.

I also don't like keyword spammers, god, they're annoying. I don't mind if someone does it once, but there are some people who put up 50 ads for different goods, but all with the word Festool in it, completely falsifying my search. Easy remedy, one quick hit on the report button. Marktplaats always takes quick action. After marktplaats became big they were bought by eBay, so I guess eBay has the same policy?

Seth, that Hammerex 600 is way too powerful for the average woodworker. One momentary lapse of attention and you drill right through your cabinet. Dunno why they released it under the Festool brand, should be more at home with Protool.  [wink]

I've found Ebay very useful for purchase of items that aren't being manufactured any more. No other marketplace has the scope and diversity. I've made buys on it about 200 times.

I tried selling on it once. Not my cup of tea.

For new items not so much.
