Using "Img" Tags to Include Pics in Posts

After you have uploaded pics to the Gallery or if you want to use a pic on another website, you'll need to use them in posts.

1) Start creating your new post.  Identify the spot where you want to insert an image.

2a) If in the FOG Gallery, navigate to the target pic in your Gallery.  Click on the thumbnail pic to display it full size.

2b) If on another website, navigate to the image and display it full size on that site.  For example, the new Domino at:http://www.festoolusa.com/pages.aspx?docid=534.

3) Right-click on the image, and select "Properties".  The "Properties" window will pop up:

In the center, note the "Address:".

4) Highlight and select the address.  You'll notice the cursor will change from an Arrow to an I-beam:

5) Press +C, or right-click and select "Copy" to copy the URL for the image.

6) Change to your window where you are creating the post, select a convenient spot in your post, and press +P or right-click and select "Paste".  Notice that the URL that you copied is now pasted in your post.

7) Now select the entire URL text with your cursor, and click the "Insert Image" icon (middle row, second button from left in the post editor):

Note that the URL that you just pasted in is now surrounded by two img tags.

8 ) Click "Preview" and you'll see your referenced image inline with your text:

9) Click "Post" and you're done!

One additional note:

Firefox users can simply select "Copy Image Location" when right clicking on the photograph. This will copy the image's URL to the clipboard automatically and negate two tedious steps.

On Mac/Safari you simply Control click on the selected (enlarged) image and choose Copy Image Address from the short list of options that pops up.

Back in your post, you click on the picture button and then paste in the contents of the clipboard.

If done right your picture will show up in the preview of the post.
