You know how when you buy a new tool that comes in a carrying box (like the systainer) you tear into it, take everything out, and when you are finished playing, you have no idea how to put it all back in and have the box close?  I would like to see a picture on the inside of the top cover of how the tool and accessories are supposed to go in the box...

All of the new tools include a photo showing this on the inside lid. Not sure if they will go back and add it to older tools' inserts or not.

Trying to figure out how it all goes back into the Systainer has come up before.  Seth (SRSemenza) has documented many aspects of the Systainers, and has documented how the contents go back into their Systainer for a few of the Festool.  Following his lead, and to assist a member here, I also documented one of the tools.  You can find these threads over at talkFestool in the Festool and Tanos -- All Things Systainer forum.  Currently, we have the following tools documented:

DF500 Domino
PSB300 D-Handle Jig Saw
TS55
OF1400
OF1010

If there is a specific tool that has not yet been documented, let me know and I will see if I or another member can document this for you.

PS.  Shane, your latest avatar is just wrong!  That poor pup.    [eek] [scared] [big grin]

I guess the timing of the Festool First Aid Kit was none too soon for Shane...  Heck, I would bite him too if he came near me with that Easter Bunny hat.    [tongue]

I would be very interested in a picture or pictures of how to pack the Guide Rail Accessory Kit, Product No. 497657.  I would like to keep all four of my rail connectors in one place, and it looks like it should be  possible, but it is not intuitive to me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have less than a year old product and the insert in my Classic does not fit  the reality of the cover images.  The image you show is the same insert I have and even as a small image... at the end of the day I went into it and was able to get it to close easy for the first time sense buying it.

Come on Festool NA, you know we have the product. An email and a link to being able to print out a image so the stuff can get fitted back would be nice. Remember not all US Festool users don't let others touch the product on site. My Guys are good but heck when I can't figure out how to get back in... and I took it out... why should they.

Part of being a system is also having a process to keep the system up-to-date (that means going back a bit to let others know). So how about a link to an image I can print out and paste into the systainer for my guys to pack it back up.  [big grin].

Hey don't get me wrong, Festool Rules and I stand behind the company and it's product 100% (some people will say 110% but they don't understand math... Hmmmm mostly athletes...go figure).

Cheers,
Steve

Got the jist of your post, but if there's something in particular you want a picture of in its systainer, post it and I'm sure you'll get plenty of member pics to help out in the meantime (cause I don't see your wish happening).  Have the picture printed out to a large size and laminate it, then put it in the systainer for reference.

i would like to see a pic for the of 2000 showing all the accesories in there. the fence , bars, guide bushes(maybe 3or 4 , screw etc, chip catcher thing etc.

does it matter if the tool is packed the same exact way as the manufacturer puts it in there.  The liners of the systainers make it pretty easy to figure out where to put each part/tool etc.  Does any other tool put a picture on the case of where to put everything?  As long as the cord isn't being bent, or anything is getting wrecked and the lid shuts,  that's how it goes in.  I don't just throw it in there but I don't see how hard it can be to put stuff back in a systainer.

I wish festool would use a better plastic liner for the tool systainers.  That is just how the multimaster comes and it's annoying.  All drill cases are molded to let you put the drill or tool back into the case each time.  The thin black liner isn't going to last forever before it gets all busted up, for the cost of a festool, they can make a better liner for sure.

New tools have a picture of how it all goes in but I dont see the need!  I have never had a problem putting my tools back in a systainer seems common sense to me.

I like it... for at least the first couple of times I always forget where each part came from.  I dont need the picture anymore, but it would have been nice when the tool was new.

They can be  handy when you buy an accessory for a tool and  find that the systainer has a spot molded to fit it. Example would be the the Parallel Edge Guide for the TS55 fit in very nicely.

its not so much how the tool fits in but how all those little accesories fit in. it is nice to see that a particular accesory has a spot to slot into. most of it is common sence but some bits are hard to fit in or work out where they go the first time. i hate having the systainer with the tool put in and all the accesories thrown in on top or where ever they will shove in. all of these then have to come out first to get the tool out. not ever tim e you use the tool do you use all the accesories. if they are pulled out it increases the chance of loosing an accesory or a screw etc

Then you haven't seen the US version of the MFK700, there's a ton of stuff jammed in that Systainer and you'd be lost without the picture......

JMB -  for a sander or a TS..yea... they fit...it is the accessories that can over whelm you...  you use it Once every 4 months...and then you look back at the systainer....and wonder.... WTF (where they fit)  [big grin]

Steve
