Pillar drill question

Hi everyone,

Going to buy a pillar drill, just wondered if anyone had any recommendations before I spend my money. Didn't really want to spend more than a couple of hundred UK pounds. Have been looking at the Record Power offering, seems ok but don't have any experience of their stuff. Am based in England, so that'll no doubt limit comments most of you could make!

I don't have a pillar drill, but if I needed one the first thing I'd look at would be the ones that Axminster do (the white range). They've always seemed to be quite good (certainly better than Record Power).

I have an SIP one.  No complaints with it but it is about 8 years old now & i am sure there are better ones out there now.

axminster tools are good and also good value for money id see if you could go and have a look

Thanks guys, useful feedback as always.  I'll see if I can get over to the Nuneaton Axminster store in the next week or so. Will let you know what I end up with!
