Placing a ‘Like’ option for post’s

Wow, so much push back at me being able to like your posts.... I'm literally not on any social media sites and I resent the posts suggesting anyone who wants 'likes' is just in need of some validation.

I'll just shut up then :)

[member=25208]ultane[/member] and [member=22067]mrB[/member]  I agree with your request for a like button.  And I think Alex's initial comment was a tad out of line.  People are entitled to their opinions and suggestions and shutting them down like that  only turns people off from posting in the future for fear of being shut down again.

I frequent another forum for one of my other passions, John Deere tractors.  It's called Greentractortalk.com and they use the "like" button and also have a "thanks" button.  I don't have a FB account so I'm not a big social media fan.  But I find the buttons useful for feedback when I don't have a reply but just want to say thanks or show that I agree with or like a post.  Additionally, the "thanks" tally shows up in your posts next to your avatar so you can easily see how helpful a user has been overall on the forum.  A bit of street cred.  If you haven't used it, don't knock it, it's very useful.

But I think it's all moot as Peter mentioned.  It would take a complete website overhaul and could affect the stability.  Keep on posting!
