I need to replace my 10-12 years old Bosch electric hand planer.I have looked at the ehl 65.Really nice! But i don't think i want to drop that much dough yet.I don't use one a whole lot.And i do use it on particle board. So i am looking at the Bosch 1594 K and the Makita KP 0810
I am looking for feedback on those models and other suggestion.
Thank

It aint that much more than the bosch  well not here in the UK  and a little more expensive than the Makita!     I would go with the EHL65 I wouldnt let the little difference in price bother me unless where you live it costs alot more  than the other planers

Bosch Link £200
Not seen that bosch one before though this is the one I seen every where Bosch GHO 40-82c £209   The one you suggested has a tilt-able guide fence  nice feature!

Festool  Link £242

The Bosh goes for around $150 here, EHL65 $410, I have the bosh and it works well. Dust collection is even fairly good, but does bind up in the planer now and then. I would like to get the EHL65 eventually, but the Bosh does the job.

I have the bosch one referenced above. Used once, literally. Might need one new blade as I did hit a finish nail.
The cord still has the kinked look. It is like new on all other fronts. Comes with bevel guide.
Purchased a month ago from Lowes.
$100.

That's a big difference  umm maybe the price does co e a little then lol!  Not here in uk though,

Buy the Bosch, I've had various models for years. They work great. Went to upgrade last year and looked at the 65. Wouldn't give you a dime for that thing. I consider it to have major flaws over the Bosch. I opted to buy the 850 and get replacement parts and fix my Bosch. Bosch gets used all the time. 850 sits in the bench unit, sweet _ss planer.

That could mean either of two things (or maybe the third I can't think of): lucky on the Festool price, or less so on the Bosche?
