Hi together,

short question to the European readers:  Has anyone ever tried upgrading the OF2200 with this one?

Dirk,

The OF2200 doesn't have a plug-it because it draws too much current - more current than the plug-it cable is rated to. Putting the plug-it pigtail on would bring up the same issue.

Having said that, I think someone has done it (I seem to remember reading a post about it) and since the OF2200 would only draw such high current if you really, really pushed it, it probably wouldn't be a problem. But don't expect Festool to say it's OK to put in on, because they won't.

But is the current really an issue with the European versions (i.e. 240V)?  I was assuming Festool just didn't want to bring the OF2200 in two mechanically different versions and thus having the fixed thick cable even when the current is only half of the 110V version.

BTW:  What's the rating for the "plug-it" connector?  Just by looking at it, I do not see a problem at 10A for the OF2200.
