Plugs on Dust Collectors

I have to ask why does the Midi come with a 20 Amp plug and an adapter and but the CT 26 comes with only the 15 Amp plug on it. It would seem to me  this should be the other way around. I am betting my Midi doesn't draw as  much as my CT 26 does..
Shane maybe you can help me out on this one...By the way I have an older Midi approx 3 Yrs old

Not sure I have a good answer. I simply don't know the reason for the design and electrical components used. I think you're assumption about your MIDI drawing less power is incorrect. I seem to recall that the newer motor in the CT 26, and now all CTs, was lighter weight, easier to service, and MORE EFFICIENT than previous motors.

I guess my question is whether it is creating some type of issue for you? Or was it just that you're curious?

Shane    causing no issue actually I like the 20 Amp plug better as my shop is set up with that style of outlets.. Just Curious.

The CT22/33 had the adapter deal too. I am guessing that when the new CT series was designed they decided/got the OK to put a propper US type 15amp plug on them for the US  market. I am thinking that even though the Mini/Midi motor was upgraded that Festool did not get involved with gaining approval to change the plug set up. Just my thinking though.

It's a UL requirement that came about (was enforced) recently. All of the Festool vacs are rated to handle the full load from a 20 amp circuit. In order to "say that" Festool was previously using NEMA 5-20 plugs on the vacs. But because these outlets are rare in the US (because the NEC permits 5-15 outlets on 20 amp circuits) Festool included the adapter cord. UL clamped down and said you can't include that adapter any more.

The two choices were: a) ship the vacs with the NEMA 5-20 plug without adapter, or b) put the 5-15 plug on the vac and change the "sticker" on the vac to say it is rated for only 15 amps. Festool chose the latter because (never mind...I shouldn't explain that part). Suffice it to say, the internal components are the same.

Rick  thank you for your answer, as I said not an issue perse but just curious as to why.
Both my shop and garage are set up with 20 Amp circuitry only two outlets to a breaker.
To be honest I like the 20 Amp plugs much better.
