Hi everybody, here's my first topic after lurking for a long time.

I recently acquired a Woodpeckers SpinRite 3.25HP Soft Start Router Motor for my router table, and there's a couple of jobs for which it would be extremely useful for me to have a motor this powerful in a plunge base. I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with adding a plunge base to a router lift motor like this one? Any good aftermarket solutions you would recommend? Thanks for letting me know!
Best, Alex

A  brand  new  2000w  Hikoki M12V2  is  only  £229  quid.
A  plunge  base  to fit your  motor  will be at least  £100 quid.

I have  two  M12V2  routers. Because  they  are  so cheap.
And  the  build  quality  isn't bad.
No comparison  to an OF2200  of  course.
Personally  I would  just leave  the  big  motor  in the  router table.

Incidentally, here  in the UK  an  OF2200 is  about  as  cheap  to  use  in a  router  table as a big  motor,  router  lift  and  dust  box.
Except  IMO  the OF2200  will have  the  more  superior  dust extraction  below  the  table.

That makes sense, after thinking through it I think I’ll just go for a dedicated plunge router. Thanks!
