I c!!!   Well that makes a massive difference!!!  I now can't see why one would not use one of these.  I recon it might be better than the kreg version.

Cus it has a flat straight edge it will help refrence the two piece together unlike the kreg version. Also with its lower profile it doesn't get in the way as much.  The kreg version is a little big and hangs down with its weight.

No worries I have 3 of these clamps two have the quick release, one doesn't. I don't see me using the one without the quick release.

The quick release ones have ujk technology.co.uk printed on them they were about £14 each the other one is made by bench dog and was about a tenner. They are made from aluminium not sure how much clamping pressure they can give?

I just bought one of the standard ukj pocket jig clamps and I'm very impressed with the quality. Might buy some more while its 10% off at axminster.

The first version of this clamp did not have the quick release.  It came out several years ago and  was changed pretty quickly so I would think that most old stock is gone by now.

I have had them shift even with clamping but , combine with Dominos and  ......... no more shift.

I don't have a domino yet either (definitely on my list, of course), but I too have had them shift even after clamping.

Depending on what I'm joining, what I do sometimes is clamp a piece of scrap to the edges in such a way that the joint can't slip in certain ways because the scrap piece overlaps and prevents it.

Not sure how to describe it well... but strategic use of clamped scraps can help to reduce this effect.

Kreg makes some very good screws - I often use them even when I'm not doing pocket holes.

One tip I gleened from JLC was to initially stick your joint together with a fast drying cryo glue.  Then screw together.  The glue keeps the joint from moving.  Of course this assumes that you aren't using regular glue in the joint.  Some of us don't.
