Nothing like being able to set up a portable shop in a 9' x 9' space. Right in the room where I was installing a built-in. Including a miter saw and not even worry about the dust.  There was still enough room to open that exterior door all the way to get in / out.  Thanks to Festool and Tanos plus  few ideas of my own.  [smile]

Very cool!  Thanks for posting...what are the little handles for your nail guns?

Scot

The hooks they are hanging on?  Just some general purpose hooks from the big box.

See This for more on that.

Thanks for the post Seth. One of the things that I love about this forum is the "Method of Work" type posts like yours that show how real guys are gettin it done in the real world. I love all the too organization stuff that makes work easier, safer, faster and better.

Keep up the good work and know that many of your ideas have been stolen by me. I owe you a beer or 6.

Oh, come on.... can't you see they are Minis?  [tongue]

I only had one for quite a while. Swapping the hose from the Kapex gets old fast.  When the set up is close like this  a 'Y' with blast gates could work (which I never did), but if not close then forget it.

The Sys - III under the Kapex table is for the Kapex accessories and the shortened D36 hose fits in the hose garage on the Mini.

Seth,

Just curious what type of table saw you use in the shop or do you use the festool system with a jig?

At this point  - no table saw due to space reasons. I have always planned on getting a large cabinet saw, but shortly will be going with a bench top. Mostly for small pieces. I just use the TS55 and rails to rip long stock.  No jig. Woodpeckers T-Squares to mark cuts accurately.

Portable shop looks great. Must have taken a lot of thought and time to get every thing so organized..

Thats what I was going to do. Sell my large table saw , router table and a lot of tools I havent used in a long time. For a router table Im going to buy one with a router lift just the top and fence to set inbetween my 2 MFTs secured with clamps.

If I cant live w/o a table saw Ill get a get a small bench top, probably a Yellow one. But Im going to shoot for not needing one if I can do with out.

But mostly use jigs etc with my festools  Since I started thinking the festool way ( different approach ) I barely use my table saw. I think I turned it on maybe 6 times in the last year. Then only for a quick cut cuz I didnt want to take the time of setting up a guide rail for one or two quick cuts. Ive been making my own sustainer size boxes out of 1/2 baltic birch and putting things in them like a reg systainer. Nothing fancy just a box systainer size. placing them in home made sysports . Mainly for shop/garage work/storage. trying to reduce the foot print of larger cabinets.

edited to add:

I picked up a couple of woodpeckers things a small 6" T square, Imperial and metric and the 900mm story stick.

Most of this built-in  was prebuilt and moved in, so no  sheets of plywood and only a couple long pieces to deal with. I have the UG extensions for the Kapex  but I only needed to cut  two or three 8' ish pieces so in interest of space I just lined the MFT3 up with the Kapex MFT for the long piece support.  By flipping the work or the saw I only needed long space on one side.

For more on the built-in itself see this topic  ... Built-in Bookcase
