Hi, hope someone can help , I have inherited a porter cable 6 1/2 inch circular saw but no spanners to change blade , have tried to contact P.C. directly but being in uk can't register to ask them, saw is in immaculate condition but blade is past its best ( not even tct ! ) would appreciate any help as to the size of spanner to go behind blade, model no. is 346-1 , type 2 , serial no. A 14387 , any help greatly appreciated , thanks , Dave

Thanks for your replies , seems the spanner I need is the jackshaft spanner , outer bolt is 5/8" so no problem with that one , looks like I will have to make my own for the shaft  [smile] , as its 1 1/8" and very slim , tried the old method of a piece of timber between blade and base but didnt work as everything rotated but the blade .

Porter Cable router wrenches are 1 1/8" and rather thin, flat stamped steel.

My saw doesn't have a shaft lock as its rather old , bit like me  [smile] , but in much better condition than I am !  Managed to make  a temporary spanner to get blade off so happy days, interestingly the blade had a knockout for diamond shaped arbor .
