Possible malware in links

Reading some old threads I came upon some posts by Tom Bellemare and posts from other members with links to his (former?) business at tool-home dot com. This includes a link still appearing in Tom's signature.

When I clicked one of these links I was redirected to a site that tried to install extensions in my browser.

Maybe this is legit, but it looks like a pretty common technique for installing malware. If there's a way to remove these links from the site it would benefit other users perusing these old posts.
