Hello everyone,

A long time ago, I built an MFTC inspired worktable. I've been using rail dogs and for the most part, I've been pleased with this setup but I would like to change that to a guide rail attached to support brackets using t-track. I'm brainstorming to see how I'll built mine and I'm curious to see what DYI support brackets you came up with. I did some search and found some but I would like to see more ideas.

Thank you

These are the 80/20 ones I did years back. Still work like a charm.

Thank you Sean. Yours is really interesting. Do you mind listing the 8020 parts you used to make it?

I really liked Sean KS design  and adapted it to my MFT3.  It actually made the guide rail hinge functional compared to the poor Festool OEM stamped metal one.  Once I squared the rail up, it has remained square independent of height.  I was going to use a second set for the front support, but this design works so well that I can continue to use the OEM front support.

The wood block is to limit how far back the guide rail tilts from vertical

The white nylon disks limit the downward travel when the guide rail is flipped up.

Thanks Dick, I'll definitely take that route. I just need to find a Canadian supplier.

This thread from 2015 mentions a Canadian supplier for 8020 at reply #8 of the posts.  Possibly a source.

Here is my. Rock solid and repeatable.

Svar, most of the components appear to be commercial items but the risers and rail supports look to be custom. Did you machine them and if so, nice job.  [big grin]

I like!  I like a lot!  I need some of those?

A while back didn't someone post that they had attached one of the TSO Products Guide Rail Squares directly to the Festool hinged rail bracket on the MFT3, and the attached rail then was square to the table regardless of height adjustments?

There are now mounting holes drilled and tapped in the TSO GRS-16 PE guide rail square for mounting it directly to the hinged bracket on the MFT/3.  There's even a template to download on the TSO website for retrofitting older versions of the guide rail square.
