Precisio CS 50 Servicing

I've managed to bag myself a Precisio CS 50 and was taking a look at the manual this evening. One section recommends that you "Service your machine regularly to ensure that it functions properly" and suggests some things you should do. One of those is to "Keep the guide bars clean and grease them regularly" but it doesn't detail what to use.

What "grease" should be used on the guide bars?

I"m not sure what Festool will recommend, but I use a teflon based lube on my rod guided tools.

I usually use a quick spray of some silicone spray or a light machine oil. You will find after doing the cut will be much smoother to carry out

I use WD40 on the moving parts of my Erika and it pulls nicely.

I use bike Chain oil, Motor oil, Silicon oil.

I use Wurth Dry lubricant spray and works great for me.

I have been using 3in1 dry silicone spray on mine. gave up with the oil picked up to much junk .

Enjoy  your saw , they are brilliant little tablesaws

On a somewhat related note, you have a lot to answer for regarding my Festool journey. I don't know whether you remember, but nearly five years ago as [member=1873]windmill man[/member] you were one of the first people to welcome me to the FOG and, as you called it then, "the slippery slope"...  [wink]

Little did I know!

And I *still* have that one prototype wardrobe door in the bedroom! Six years and counting, so I guess we can say it worked now and actually get on with making the other eight!

Just a tip for, you the precisio can have a dodgy thermal cut, out use dust extraction helps keep the motor cool and when you find out which bit it is let me know then i can rip it out. [smile]

Really good saw very under rated in my opinion , did you get the full monty (extensions and slider)

I already have the full CMS-GE kit (extensions and slider) with the OF, TS and PS inserts, as well as the MFT-VL so am all kitted out and ready to roll with regard to the full experience.

I think if I made the wardrobe doors now, my wife would be concerned about the reasons. Bit like buying flowers...  [wink]

I finally made our wardrobe doors a few years back. I reckon it was about 10 years after I built the carcases , not bad eh ?

They're fitted but still in primer, well she can't have everything lol

If one is into finishing with finishes that are prone to fisheyes, then silicone is often avoided.

Yea they always complain, after my wife cleans the house, washes the cars, mows the lawns, she comes into the living room and asks me to let the dog out...
Right in the middle of my football match...

But I think a joiners wardrobe is probably like a mechanics car lol

I think mine was carcase. 18months later doors. 1 year later paint

.....I was told there isn't a recommended lubricant. So next stop is the P.M and the email went last week.
