Pro 5 product name question

I just noticed that I said that the revised ETS 125 would be coming later this year. My fingers weren't typing what was in my head. It will actually be coming NEXT year (2017). Sorry for the misstatement.

In the Euro Market, the ETS 125 is the Pro 5 with 250W, minus the blue,LTD sys of course.

Like I mentioned, this will trickle over to the US like most Festool releases. I don't really get the Festool model of releasing tools?
They have a version in Eastern Euro Markets, They slap new names on it or may call it Limited, etc. and make it available in new markets to test them?? Its an updated version of the tool, why not just release it across all markets? They do this for many tools and sometimes causes headaches. Like I'm sure we will see an updated version of the HK/HKC or likely the HK85 will come to the us at some point.

Sometime later next year, we will be releasing an updated version of the ETS 125, which will be identical (excluding obvious cosmetic differences like the label) to the PRO 5 LTD.

Just learned today that the new ETS 125 will be released in October 2017. It will also be renamed ETS 125 PRO and cost $190.

So...it will be cheaper than the original ETS 125 and will suck up 50 watts more of power. Also rumored, is that a hard pad will also be offered.  [cool]

Seems like the Pro 5 for only $99 was a bonus round after all.  [big grin]

Don't count on it [member=65402]frezkar[/member] At most there is one a year, and it was usually a 10% thing (like for Domino XL or Kapex).  The $99 for the Pro 5 was a real outlier.  The really sweet deals come when they sell reconditioned tools, with discounts ranging from 10 to 40%.  But they have revamped the process of how they do it.  In previous years it was run by the dealers and you could just call them up and see what they had in stock.  But last year they limited it to attendees at Festool Connect.  I suspect they might continue that practice.  But who knows?
