Pro finish pack - back order?

Thank You for your loyal support of our brand.  We are just as disappointed with not being able to fulfill the campaign product as originally planned. The inability to fulfill the campaign as originally planned was no fault of our Dealers, and we take ownership of this. The supply chain interruptions were unpredictable and unavoidable. Again, thank you for your continued support! We are filling orders as quickly as possible.
I thought I would add some context to the topic. If I ordered 12 months ago a sliding door, oak and iron railing parts, deck lumber and a variety of other products related to my business, I could expect delivery from anywhere in the US within the next two days to a week. Now, a sliding door is a month, oak and iron railing parts two to three weeks. Pressure treated lumber, don't even try to get what you need unless you have a vendor who is placing your order and giving you top priority, even then you can expect a call from the sales person telling you that they can't get one or two dimensions or lengths that you need.

Our supply chain is stretched thin due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I don't know what it's. Selective reading?

This is what I gathered from JG when I read his post:

"I hope Festool does something for their customers to accommodate this unexpected situation.  I am not asking for anything free.  Just send me what you can so I can begin to use it.  This is not a dealer issue.  This is a Festool customer service issue."

I don't think he's asking for something that's undoable or beyond Festool's control.

Or, if I were calling the shots, I'd consider sending him and people in his situation (such as those Kapex customers still waiting) a Festool gift card or something of a small value (a tape, a screwdriver etc. that bears the Festool logo).

can you comment on why or why not festool or a dealer in particular couldn't just fill the part of the package that's in "stock" and send on the last part (jigsaw) when it returns ? ? ?

It's not as if the single tool is an integral part necessary for the entire unit to function, like say the brakes being missing from and otherwise completed car.  Folks can easily and safely use the saw, drill, impact and tool box part of their "package" without the jigsaw.

Snip.

Excellent question that Festool itself should also chime in.

I can only speak for us. There are two issues here in my mind.

1) Festool's very strict pricing policies would prohibit what could be consider splitting up a combo kit that has a discount attached to it more than likely. Festool explicitly prohibited partial shipment on the Kapex + UG combo kits, for example.

2) It's very expensive to ship tools, which are bulky and heavy especially in Systainers. We offer free shipping so we "absorb" that cost. If it takes more than one shipment for an order it gets very expensive for each additional shipment. I suspect the same would be true for Festool having to fulfill orders in multiple shipments.
