Problem seeing Related Dealers' names in Recent Posts List

This is a very low priority request, but I thought that you'd rather know about a problem rather than me just keeping quiet about it!

I go tohttp://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?action=recent to view most recent posts, which has the last 100 messages (10 pages, each of 10 messages) arranged in chronological order.

Above the main text of each message is a header section which shows the forum the message was posted in, the subject heading of the thread, the name of the person who started the thread, the author of the message I am currently viewing, and the date and time of posting.

The names of people are coloured, depending on their "status". For instance, most members' names appear in white, whilst Matthew's name is in maroon...

...and "related dealers" appear in dark green...

The problem is that that on my screen, the dark green doesn't show up at all well on the dark grey header bar.

Although I appreciate that my computer and monitor settings are an important factor, I wonder if it would be possible to change either the dark green or the dark grey background so that the related dealer's name can be more clearly seen?

Many thanks

Forrest

Forrest,
Thank you for bringing this up!  I think other people probably are experiencing the same issue.

Rather than change the gray, I think it would be better to change the color of the Related Retailers to something brighter.  I'm thinking they should be blue (for example) rather than green.  That way the green is reserved for Festool Dealers.

I'm going to change their color now to blue.  Tell me if they show up better when I do that.

Yes, the dark blue is quite readable. Thank you for sorting that out so quickly  :)

Incidentally, I access the 10 Pages of Recent Posts by:

Going to the FOG home page athttp://festoolownersgroup.com

Scrolling down to the  "FESTOOL OWNERS GROUP - Info Center". Although this section lists the most recent 100 posts, it doesn't show the text of the messages, so I...

...click on the pencil and paper icon, half-way down the left-hand column of the Info Center section, and this shows the posts in their entirety.

(Since the pencil and paper icon has the linkhttp://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?action=recent , I have created a favourite/bookmark for that link in my browser)

However, there are two problems with doing things this way:

- Only the most recent 100 posts are shown. At busy times, this can be less than 18 hours of activity, and so ideally I'd like the number of pages to be increased from 10 to 20 or more. This request has been discussed before, but seems to be rather difficult to implement.

- Photographs accompanying posts do not always show up, and if the author doesn't mention that there are photos, I can miss them completely using this viewing method. It all depends on the way that the poster has used to display/attach his photos.

Forrest,
Thanks for letting me know how the change looks.

I am working on a few improvements to forum functioning, including ways to increase the number of recent posts visible through the option you describe.  Keep in mind that SMF has a lot of features, and sometimes it's difficult to find the specific code for one particular part.  But I put on my detective hat and seek it out whenever I can.

Thanks again,
Matthew
