Problem with AC 36 vaccum

I having an issue with dust coming out of the side vents above the two big wheel when auto clean kicks in when I'm using the planex drywall sander. I am losing sleep over this trying to figure out why it is doing this. Anyone else having this problem or solved this issue?!?!? My 100$ rigid vac works better then the 800$ AC 36 vac. Very disappointed in festool being that they say is virtually dust free but the room fills up with a dust cloud. Anyone one with suggestion greatly appreciated in advance.

First, [welcome] to the FOG! Sorry your first post had to be about a problem.

Not trying to insult you, but are you sure you have the plastic bag properly placed in the tub? It should seal so no air actually enters the tub - just the bag.

If you are getting any dust through those vents it means your filter is either missing, improperly installed, or breached. There should be no dust that reaches to that side of the filter which could be propelled out through the vents.

• Remove the filter and inspect the foam seal for tears or foreign debris.
• Inspect the filter for holes in the paper folds.
• Inspect the vacuum housing where the filter seals against.

The liner shouldn't be an issue in his case. But as long as you brought it up, the liner should rest in the bottom of the canister, making sure the two vent panels are INSIDE the canister, but the edge of the liner wrapped around the lip of the canister. Make sure the anti-static contacts are not covered by the liner.
