Problem with images in saved drafts?

I've been writing a new topic & saving it as a draft as I go along. I've just added 8 pictures to it, but when I click on 'save as draft' again, I get the following message:

Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

There are 8 pictures in total (so far), and added together they are 784kB total. The largest file is only 142kB. Both these figures are way below the allowable limits.

Is there a restriction on images for drafts? I could wait until I'm ready to publish & then attach all the images before posting, but it would be simpler if I could save the images as I went along...

Let me check on something in a couple minutes...

Jonathan,

You can't save images in drafts as far as I know.  I tried with just one image.

You can write your post and include the code for attached image as ... and save as draft.

Then at the last minute go back and attach the images.

The problem is that your image files are too large. Resize them before you attempt to attach them to your post. Many of today's high megapixel cameras create images that are thousands of pixels by thousands of pixels in resolution and very large in file size. The forum can't handle those.

Shane,

That isn't the problem. I've already resized all the images to 900x675 or thereabouts. As I said, all 8 images combined are well under a meg (784k).
