Problems with "Ignore User" Option!

Everyone,
To my horror, I have learned that some members are inadvertently being ignored by other members, and some members have other members on their "ignore" list and have been going along without realizing it!  It seems that it's easy to accidentally activate this feature.

In fact, it seems there are very few intentional "ignores" going on here, and the one or two members who are on everyone's intentional ignore list no longer post here.

I'll be uninstalling this feature shortly.

Sorry everyone for the inconvenience!  I'm even more sorry for any missed communications that might have occurred.  Once it's uninstalled, however, all that will go away!

I think the feature is a good one. I think there could be situations where something as minor as the poster's photograph or quote could offend or disturb someone enough that another user would want to "Ignore" them...I'm not big on imposing my own will or philosophy on someone else or the group, so if I can avoid a "clash" simply by using the "Ignore" button, then problem solved.

How do you know that the "Ignores" are unintentional?

Ignorees were writing to me, asking why they were being ignored.  I checked with the ignorers, and it was confirmed to be accidental.

I guess that's one of the little problems with the Ignore feature, one cannot ask why for him or herself and has to ask Matthew to do the dirty work.  Hmmm, hasn't he given enough of his time to this board without having to, well, waste time on such matters?

Corwin,
I don't mind the work so much.  What concerns me is anything that might stand in the way of totally open communication here.
