Problems with my ETS 125 EQ sander

Thank you again everyone for your comments.

I am just completing a chest of drawers and am having a much better experience with my ETS 125 sander.  I really think the main reason for better control has been mentioned in a few posts- securing the wood being sanded. I have been using my MFT with clamps for almost all of the components in this project and it seems to have made all the difference.

When all is said and done - the problem seems to be more operator error (and a learning curve) than any specific problem with the tool.

Just wanted to update on what happened with my ETS 125. Back in May I posted about how my ETS 125 was basically unusable with the jumping around problem, no matter the vac setting, sand paper, etc.

I finally sent it to Festool USA for repair...when it came back, it was pretty much night and day.

I didn't really get a detailed accounting of what was done, but on the paperwork I received back it mentioned they replaced the bearing flange and threw a new pad on as well.

It was WAY better and MUCH more usable than when I shipped it in. Just before I shipped it off I did buy an ETS EC125. While the brushless is clearly much more powerful, the ETS125 still does quite well and leaves a fantastic finish, now that I can actually use it. I tested it from 80grit up to 320grit and all was well.
