Protool battery

Hi

I wonder, have  my Protool cordless drill (DRC 15-TEC LI)  battery  (14,4 V Lion 2,6 Ah) some kind of battery charger cycle counter?  I have two battery on it, and I have charge both  batteries alternately. First battery died suddendly, without pre-warning. Charger only  show "see manual light",  and  second battery die after few charging. I open the Battery cover, and there was a circuit card package,  filling  all over  some kind of cement.

Hi Pillari, welcome to the FOG.

Yes, your Lithium Ion batteries have a charge cycle counter. I believe that if a the charger detects something going wrong with a charge for 3 times the battery is deactivated to prevent something serious happening (serious as in fire or explosion, I thought).

Better see your Protool dealer for a (warranty) repair, and bring the drill and charger also because with both batteries dying the problem could be lying anywhere.
