Recently Festool here in oz have been selling of warehouse stock that has been sitting in storage.{btw they are also suppliers of the protool range}.So i go on to ebay.com.au and see protool 150mm pads(supersoft) for 2 bucks each!! So i buy 10.   what the heck at that price....

Anyway use the first one today and after 10 minutes sanding(lightly)the botton rubber and velcrow blew apart from the base and rubber check the pic.

Would this be because they sat around in the warehouse too long?rubber deteriorated?
These are new in box. What would you do? They were cheap but i mean...thought i was on a good thing.lol

Ohh [eek] I would try another if that was the same I would phone them and see what they have to say.as they should be fit for purpose.. try a lower sanding speed ;D

Shouldn't need to try a lower sanding speed if they are no good at high speed they are no good at all.

That looks like either factory seconds or dry rot from sitting around in very high and dry temperatures.  If any more do that, I'd toss them at the seller like a frisbee, but harder for trying to off that crap on people.

That must be very old pads. And that's strange because as a brand, Protool isn't that old. I didn't even know Protool also made sanding pads. I've never seen a Protool sander. Are you sure they're real Protool stuff?

Alex they are protool pads and they have never been used. They are for the Protool WTS 150 Part No. 614539.

Fits also Festool sanders ETS 150, ET 150 and ET 2 E.

I did email and got the reply "sorry about that. send them back and will refund your money"
Would have been nice if they supplied some others but if these are old stock maybe they have no others  ,except the festool ones and i can't see them replacing with them [tongue].But it would be nice ....

Somehow I think the Protool QA and/or marketing departments would know how to pronounce "SANDING PAD" - also, neither the Dutch nor the Australian Protool websites list any sanders.
The WTS 150/7 is one of the lesser known Festool sanders - although it may have been a Protool sander in a far and distant past?

My best guess is you ( and perjhaps your dealer ) are the victim of a cheap knockoff company that produces and markets lookalikes. The price would also suggest that.

Just my € 0,02 as usual.

Regards,

Job

I agree.  It sure smells of knock off to me.  There is no way in H E double toothpicks Festool or Protool would let something that obvious as spelling mistake go out the door.
