I went into the shop to look at something entirely different, but they had the new drills on display ... and my ability to resist new Festools and Protools is very weak  [embarassed]

Really nice and great ergonomics. Now tucked in it's systainer and hidden in the boot of my car for the sneak to the garage [wink]

I'm interested in that drill also!

Not getting it yet but looks like a good drill to have for using on oak etc!  Has alot of power for size ratio!

As a relatively old computer guy, my eyes read "PDP 20-4 DEC" to be something I'd never expect to be discussed on a forum again...  Yeah, eyes filled in '11' and skipped '4'

Been eyeing this one too, looks like a very nice drill and I'd love to add it to the collection. Unfortunately my 20 year old pro-line B&D is still too good to just toss aside so there's some conflict there, but I'd really love to have a corded Protool drill.

Let us know how it performs after you've done some work with it. Especially interested in how the hammer action performs under light duty in concrete (drilling up to 8 mm for fisher plugs).

Now that you mention it the memory sparks here too ... I have a hard enough time seeing OS X all the time and not reading OS 3 from my old Sperry Univac days [sad]

Those good old days of having an entire system core dump parked towering over your desk because you bug crashed the mainframe!

It'll be over a week before I can try it as I'm away this weekend, but I do need to anchor a plate into concrete, so I'll bore 8mm holes first and aim for a video. Are you using fairly standard 8mm masonry bits?

Couldn't resist this one after holding it for a couple of seconds - it makes everything else feel clumsy by comparison ... I already have Protool, Bosch and Hitachi mains hammer drills in the "traditional" formats, but the Quadrive of my PDC 18-4 is so nice I couldn't leave the PDP on the shop floor!

I mostly use some special concrete bits by Bosch. They cut better and are a bit tougher than standard masonry bits.
