PSBC vs PSC

Newbie here, wondering which one should I get, is the only difference just grip?

only the grip is different.  i personaly have the psc becuse i prefer barel grip, but everyone is their own.  the grip on the PSBC is also quite thin compared to some of the other brands with d-grips.

Just the grip is different and as a result the modulating trigger on the grip.

I have the d-handle as I prefer that, but I have to say it’s the least ergonomic d-handle I ever used. I added some moulded rubber (sugru) to the trigger to make up for the oddly thin grip/bag ergonimics of it.

If you buy 2nd hand don’t get the 400! It’s utter crap as it doesn’t have the festool blade guide and is very inaccurate. No idea why it ever existed. The 420 is the one to get.

Have the D handle or “Bügel” grip myself. Like the ability that the trigger gives.

Tip: Grip it with the thumb up top pointing forward over and towards the front center, pointy finger on the right side (right handed) pointing forward/slight downwards. Long finger operates the trigger. Near exactly the same grip as with the Kapex... Unusual..  but gripping the Carvex like other D handle jigsaws really don’t work.

I only like barrel grip saws. It keeps your hand closer to what your sawing and the saw more stable. I also like that the saw is smaller as a result.

Dont get the PSB. Spend the 5 minutes to get used to the PS and for the rest of your life enjoy the benefits.

Local Festool rep here said (years ago) that everywhere they sold about 80% PS and 20% PSB but in NL it was reversed...  [huh]

Pretty much the same here, I’ve been looking out for a pre-owned Trion with D handle for a year now, but zero.. a wealth of barrel grips available second hand (though the importer here only carries the barrel grip). I’m on to buy a brand new one instead.

You know; the only grip you can’t have on the Carvex PSB(C) is directly on the barrel from above. It’s got all the same switches and handles just the same upside down as the barrel version.

I like barrel grip when holding a jigsaw underneath the work but like a top handle when cutting from above, especially when there is a variable speed trigger in the handle.
