So its not really a Festool project exactly, but I am always recommending to people that they use Festool if they are working inside clients' homes.  You can really get away with things that wouldn't be possible otherwise.  So I put my money where my mouth is today and scuff sanded the top of my desk in preparation for a fresh topcoat.  This is an office that houses numerous computers and audio/video recording equipment.  It was a real treat not having to drag the desk into the shop!  That's trust!  Just wondering what projects others have been able to pull off because of a Festool tool.

And yes, wire organization is way overdue.  :)
Not a very interesting pic but I figured I would give ya a visual.

Marc,

My first project using my Rotex 150 and ct22, once my wife caved into the purchase pressure campaign, was to refinish the kitchen table in the kitchen. Thrilled by the lack of dust and the efficiency of the process she then asked that the kitchen island be refinished.  She did that one. Now she's a convert.

Now how do I manage to sell the idea of a Kapex?

Brice,

Not so easy.  Just got done doing three crown molding jobs without a Kapex.  Money was good.  Might have to use the old money will be better - more accurate - less cleanup - more profit routine.

My first Festool purchase(s) was the combo ETS150/3 and CT22. I had to sand some plaster repairs in my old house. I was reluctant to sand the repairs because of the dust it would generate.

So, I did the job with the Festools. No dust, just great results.

The proof was, 3 days later, my wife said that I got the fancy tools, when am I going to sand the plaster. I told her I did it 3 days ago (she wasn't home at the time).

She never saw a trace of dust.

That dust control cannot be understated!

I had to replace some sliding closet doors with hinged ones in a finished home and used my OF1010 and CT33 to do the mortises on the door jambs in the house with clothes in the closet. Had a little bit of cleanup to do but time wise it was alot quicker than having to move everything.

Let's see... hmmmm.  gotta a deck to rebuild.... ::)  Maybe a Kapex to miter the boards?  It would make the deck look a lot more professional, woundn't we agree?  ;D

Marc,

Did you win that sander in a contest  ;)

I think Festool's best tools are the sanders. Nobody likes fine dust from sanding and the Festool sanders are so good at removing dust at the source

I had a job in an office with multiple computers, I had them move out of the room for three days. The foundation had settled in the drought, the lath and plaster were cracked in a lot of spots (like earthquake huge, three inch cracks floor to ceiling). I put a window vent in and went at the place with a tub of body filler, festool sanders and DC. No visible dust anywhere in the place.  The window trim was trashed, but they didn't want to spend the money to rebuild and refit the windows, I cut out the rot and built the trim back up (again with body filler) and sanded to match the profiles. Three coats of paint. They loved it, I made a pot of money and was out really quick.
