QUADRILL Please!!

Ok, so I know a lot of folks don't want a drill unless it's cordless. But, building in in Minnesota, outdoors, in January, when temperatures are routinely 0 F/-17C, cordless batteries simply don't perform well, if at all. To date, I've been bringing a large cooler to work and placing a 75 watt trouble light in the cooler along with my batteries and chargers to keep them warm. This works ok, but on the coldest days it often means cycling between batteries every ten minutes or so, which is a major pain and requires owning many extra batteries.

Granted, the Quadrill does not have an impact driver function, but with it's short length and nice looking side handle, I could definitely get a lot of utility out of it, particularly when my cordless impact simply doesn't work on those coldest of days.

The impressively short design also appeals to me. Particularly, I sense it would be very well suited for drilling Kreg holes in conjunction with one of my CT vacs.

I'm not very interested in the Hammer Drill version of this tool, since I am already fully invested in rotary hammers for my cementitious drills needs.

Anyways, since this is a tool already in production, I'd love to see a 120v version here in North America. Therefore, I'm going to ask as nicely as I can..... PLEASE??????? :-)
Best,
Tom

When debating what to study in college, electrician and engineering were both high on the list.  Driving past job sites on those cold January mornings to the warm office reassures me I made the right choice.  :-)

I would love the quad drill currently I am waiting for it, However if it does not come pretty soon "when i have to replace my current 18v stuff" Well Festool just might sit this round out.

I know how you feel. I need a cordless hammer drill in about 6 weeks. Looks like I'll have to purchase another deposable Bosch. I've gone through 3 in 4 years with moderate use.

Tommy,

Makita cordless SDS plus drill.  Yes. You will need different batteries but perfect for the application.

I have mixed emotions about the availability of the new cordless Festool drills. On one hand, I really, Really, REALLY want a PDC. On the other hand, my wallet is glad they are NAINA.

I, too, am hoping my old drills last until Festool gets their act together on the cordless tools and makes them available here. If my drills crap out before they become available, I will be forced to buy into another brand - probably the Milwaukee M18 Fuel stuff.
