Hi folks,

I have double true divided uPVC french doors in my dining room leading out to our patio. What should be a good window treatment for the doors that would allow light in, and maintain privacy as well. Also where would you place the window treatment - from where the windows start, or from the top of the doors?

When you ask about leting light in, are you talking about diffused light or total light.  If you are looking for total light, you could apply a window film from Outwater Plastics that will obscure the view but allow all the light thru.  If difused light is o.k., you could do what I have done on many windows and install accordian style pleated shades that when drawn will let a glowing light in but with privacy.  Mounted above the glass but not to top of door.  Available at any home center.

The cheapest and easiest way I have found is to simply mask the door and spray the glass with Krylon "Frosted Glass" paint. Another advantage to this is that it can be easily removed at any time by wiping the glass with lacquer thinner. If you wanted to get fancy you could use some ornamental stencils to create a decorative look.

Alan actually was right on time.  Unfortunately while he was posting his welcome - he is the quickest welcomer  [thumbs up] - I was deleting the post from the individual and banning them for spam.

ALAN ROCKS!
