Question about Sturdiness of this Bed I'd like to Build

I'd really like to build a replica of this walnut bed in a king size, but I was wondering what you all thought of the dimensions of the legs of the bed -- don't they seem a little thin?

Not really. The legs are not square just set end on to make  it have a light look.

If you want to maintain the look just add an extra cross brace under the mattress
