You are right Greg, I did change the brushes in my Rotex 150 about three years ago. I described the procedure in the thread:

I see that for some unknown ??? reason the photos in that thread have been reduced in size. This evening, I will see if I can find the old photos on my computer and replace the ones in the thread with bigger copies.
I had used my sander for at least 1,000 hours before I replaced the brushes.
