Hey, Sean here from The Tool Nut in NY!  Would love to get added as a dealer here.  I'm heavily involved with some other online communities but just stumbled upon FOG last night.  Seems like a super comprehensive community and I'm excited to get involved.

The Tool Nut is a 10,000 sq ft retail location located right outside of NYC, just a tad bit north.  My Father started the business in 1994 and we've changed locations twice to expand.  We've been a Festool Dealer since early '07 and are a full line STOCKING dealer.  Come on by if you'd like a personal demo.  Most of my salesman, 4 to be exact, are factory trained Fes guys so they really know their stuff.  Again, let me know if you're interested in a demo of any products or the full line and I'd be more than happy to set it up for you...usually you can just stop on by and get that dedicated service without an appointment!

As far as web presence it's something we've been working on for quite some time.  It is in the works but running our large location and taking care of our loyal and dedicated local customer's has been priority #1 since day one and will continue to be...so in short, the site is on the way!  Keep a look out: www.toolnut.com

Welcome Sean. Any tips or tricks you can share would be appreciated.

Hi Sean,

Welcome.  It's a small world, as I just stumbled across your website for the first time earlier this week.

Ah very cool Steve, let me know if you have any questions or concerns and thanks for letting me know.  The big catalog will be up there soon enough.

Not sure when yous aw the site but it was redesigned about 5 days ago.

Sean,
Welcome to the Festool Owners Group!  You are in good company, as we have the most active Festool user community on the Web and vibrant dealer representation.

Thanks for posting an introduction to yourself and your business.  Please keep posting and telling us more!

Again, welcome, and I look forward to your future posts.

Matthew

Sean,  welcome to the forum!  I see you are a full line "stocking" dealer.  I take that as you have all the tools and swag in stock?  I'm looking for same day shipping.  I live in MA.  In the past, I would order from my current supplier and find the package would be on my door step the very next day, even though I chose UPS ground.  They have since moved their warehouse from the east to the midwest to better serve a national market and so I no longer enjoy the same kind of service.  Even though it's still pretty good service, I've been spoiled and so now I'm shopping around. I'd be happy to give Toolnut a try if you can promise same day shipping.

Stoolman, I most certainly can offer you same day shipping.  My UPS guy comes around about 11am and FedEx is 5pm so I've got you covered.  We use UPS for ship outs 99% of the time but if it's a rush I can get Mr. FedEx to take it with him no problemo.  I'd say if we're lucky shipping to you will be about 1 day.  What items were you interested in?

To let you know, we are having a Festool / Stanley Bostitch show on Wednesday.  Promos and Freebies from Fes all day long... phone orders will be welcome for all you out of town guys!  For you in town guys, all the new stuff will be on display: Planer, Li-Ion Drills, Parallel Guide, etc

This group easily lightens my wallet.

  • Sean introduces himself to the FOG
  • I visit his website
  • I notice that he carries Trend respirator products (I was looking for a Trend Airshield Pro)
  • Sean calls his distributor to check on availability (he doesn't stock this item yet)
  • He calls me back and gives me a good price
  • I hand him my credit card number
  • Shield should be in on Tuesday

No muss, no fuss.

That's good!  If I were doing a marketing campaign for the FOG, I'd  include your post in the publicity materials.  Hey, maybe I should take out some full-page ads in the woodworking magazines and use this?

Just kidding.

Was a pleasure chatting with ya Alan.  I'll see you Wednesday!  Come 'round 1'ish so you can get yourself a burger or hotdog or chips or soda or....who knows, maybe a Festool t-shirt and some other stuff.

Guys, I'll be posting, probably today, a new thread that advertises our Festool show slated for this Wednesday.

Another endorsement here....I ordered a Makita cordless drill yesterday.  Not only did he match the price (below his cost)  but I received it bright and early this morning.  UPS ground, 2 states away!  Thanks Sean!  I know where to go now!!

Awesome, Craigy took good care of you I guess!  Nothing worse than waiting around for the item you ordered to come in from shipping.  Psyched you got it in a day, enjoy!

Sean,

I'm hoping to attend your little shindig today.  It would be nice to see the face behind the keystrokes.

Sounds great Alan, looking forward to it.  Let's hope for no rain.

Can't stress enough about how great TOOLNUT's service is, be it through the phone or in store.  You will not be dissapointed with any aspect of the shopping experience you have with the TOOLNUT.  Can't wait until their retail website is up. As long as they keep up their good work i will not shop anywhere else for all my festool and any tool needs.  Their prices are unbelievable.
