Thanks Scott and jmb just as I posted that I did see the vid were you can just take a photo of it. Scott my mother in law does my books foc in lu of stuff done around the house but I want to make it quicker and easier for her and so I can get my head around

I dont think you will be disappointed with quickbooks.

I like it.  Its pretty cheap depending on which package.

You dont have to use cloudbased.  They do sell an installed version for a one off fee.
Benefit its quicker to enter expenses and its a one of fee.

However!!  I believe it has more negatives.  Not accesible from other devices.
You will not get the latest updates.  You have to save and send to accountants. Cloud base allows accountant full access.
One of the Features I like  on cloud base is the live invoice update.  When you send a customer an invoice it shows you what time they viewed it. Send customers messages via the invoice. Like OI you viewed the invoice now bloody pay up!!!

They also do a free app you can download which is good however i have often found it slow login in like really slow. Stopped using it because it wound me up.  I think its had some updates since so i need to give it another ago.  I hope its improved

re joist: Glad that it's working out for you. I've been using Joist for two years now and it does most things I need really well.

There are a few tweaks that they could do. The Joist team are a young group in Canada and for a time I helped out with some feedback (user panel)
on some of the software iterations as they developed the product. Due to time constraints on my part I had to stop feeding back suggestions to them.

They really are open to suggestions to improve the app and I suggest that you send them an message from within the "help" feature of the App with any suggestions you may have to improve the experience/features.

I have an accountant that does my books so I usually print my invoices and give them a copy for my monthly accounting needs so I don't need Quickbooks, Sage, etc. I started out trying to do my own accounting for the business including payroll, taxes, etc but soon realized I should concentrate on making the money and pay someone else as my expert on the accounting side of things. Works for me is all I can say.

Couldn't agree more about the working to pay someone else's fees. Stick to what your good at. I think the other great thing about the app is that it saves so much time when quoting. I was already working on a database of regular purchased items so I have been filling it up nicely. Not to mention the ease of putting regular materials like sheets, Groningen etc. This will no doubt free up time and allow me to get more work done and (hopefully) earn more squilla!

waveapps.com is very good will also let you take credit card .is free small charge for taking credit card. that's how they make money .it does your accounting as well
