Racktainer!

I would like Festool to bring the Racktainer back to the US. That's not a lot to ask!

I want them to bring back their full line of router bits long before the RackTainer.  Their bits are awesome, and kinda wish I'd bought a handfull of them before they all disappeared, but that would've broke a little rule I have adopted over the years that unlike many other things I buy for my hobby shop, when it comes to router bits, buy them as you need them.

I don't remember that the Rack Systainer was a regular item here.  I know that there were some brought into the US and we gave at least one away as a prize here before there was a special limited edition sale.  It is usually available thru Tanos, but right now the company that recently acquired the largest Tanos distributer in the US is working on the website and I couldn't find out for you if it is indeed available still.

The closest thing here is the Raaco Handybox:

Sweet!  Thank you Harry!  They are currently out of stock, but I don't need one with any urgency anyway.  My wallet is recovering from my recent purchase of another MFT, the long holey rail and the Work Center (a gift for me for Christmas).  The Racktainer isn't mission critical, no problem to put that purchase off for a while.  Thanks again for the heads up.  -Brian

Just noticed this note -  "This product is not stocked at our retail stores but can be ordered for pick-up at our stores."  Hmmm...  That would be quite a trip to a location in Canada.

Indeed, but they do ship in the U.S. and they tend to have free shipping several times a year, so that would be the best time to order.

Japan Woodworker also lists it, although quite a bit higher priced: Rack Systainer with 4 drawers

Lee Valley is currently out of stock.  A message on their web site says that they expect to get more by February 2013.

Just to toss it out, I bought one of the Festool Racktainers when they were here promotionally. If someone is bent on having a Festool branded one, I'd happily take a Tanos anthracite racktainer in trade!  Just throwing it out there!
