Hi,

Very nice work. Simple and elegant.

Seth

DD, that is a beautiful piece of work and I love that grill. Did you use many of your festool tools on this? Fred

semenza and fred, thank you

festool tools use

bench saw preciso 70 ripping

OF1400 in the festool router table, for jointing, beading, profile and scribe joints (i fairly certain you call this cope and stick)

OF1400 hand held for rebates, done climb cutting because oak smashes out so easily

rotex 125 inital sanding 120 grit , RTS 400 for intermediate sanding 180 grit

system 32 to make the jig to cut the flutes in the the skirting

LS130 final sanding to 340 grit before using the rotex 125 again for polishing the wax

DX93 used in tight spaces for inital and intermediate sanding

simple and elegant doesnt come easy, its a bit like shaker or arts and crafts

there were 40 components, and about 60 pieces the first cover which i used as a trial piece, 4 assemblies and 4 sub assemblies.

i got it down to 40 pieces for the second and third covers

i made two jigs to help one for laminations and one for the fluted skirtings

here is the jig for the fluted skirting with a trial cut
