Chemsy, the house is in Hertfordshire, not Herefordshire (Was your sense of direction that bad driving the fire truck on a call??) [scared]

I'm going to be honest here and say yes, only a few people died because we didn't turn up as we were lost so all in all not terrible  [tongue]

Only children call it a Fire Engine, the real term is a Fire Appliance! Makes it sound like a white good thou.

Guy

Yet another stunning piece of work from you - well done.

You introduced me to Osmo - are you using one of their products to finish?

The leather top held on with wallpaper paste! I have never done one of these but would love to have a trial go on a small desk for my study at home. Did you stick the lather onto the 18mm blockboard or was it done by the engraver? If you did do it can you give an outline of the process; do you prime the wood and leather first with the wallpaper paste, is the leather stretched over the blockboard, is there a rebate on the edge to take a a fold at the edge of the leather???

Do you remember that pedestrian gate that I made using extra wide dominos, inspired by your lovely gates? I am expecting the project to be published in the next copy of The Woodworker - with plugs for Festool, Toolfest (who supplied the DF700), Hitachi and Osmo.

Take care,

Peter

No plug for Guy  [huh]

;D

Actually I did give him a plug in my review of Osmo Oils but I did not mention his name - I think I referred to him as 'a friend' - Guy is a modest man and prefers things this way.

Peter

Hi Peter,

Guy Modest, No  [smile] you have that wrong. If you ever visit him , you will find a very shy and sensitive soul, that is nervious , very reserved , a little introverted and almost skittish, He does make a good brew though.

He is also a very talented Cabinet  Maker

John

There is no smiley for falling off my stool  ;D

Yea John, i stopped calling them fire engines when i was 10  [tongue]
