We built this range hood cover a few months ago in the shop using a kapex, domino, router and sander from Festool.

Poplar finished with white lacquer and glazing.

Drew,
Excellent work.  It matches perfectly with the rest of the cabinets.  What is the trammel/compass setup you used with the router?  Do you have a picture?

Thanks, Mike

Awesome work!

Could you describe a little bit about how you attach to the wall and the other cabs?  I need to build one of these as part of my folks' kitchen reno.

Thanks Mike.

I will have to work on getting a better photo of the set up.

The arch was built like a cabinet with sides and a back to mount to the wall and the cabinets next to it.  We cut out a piece of plywood so the vent hood would slide into place and have a mounting surface.  The upper cabinet is a 3 sided duct work cover that was set after the vent hood was installed IIRC. It is held by the two cabinets next to it.
