Really weak C12

I've had my C12 for almost three years now, but used it very little, just for the occasional small project.
Even when it was new I thought it was pretty weak, compared to much older drills it really didn't rev up, even with a fresh battery.
I have the 2.4 Ah battery that came with the drill and an extra 3.0 Ah.
Both only last a very short time, before needing recharge.

Occasionally the drill hasn't started at all when I've pressed the trigger and sometimes the revs have fluctuated.
This has been too rare to be an issue though, and since I haven't used it so often, I haven't given it much thought.

A couple of months ago I started working full time as a woodworker, and naturally I've been using my C12 ( as well as all my other Festool's). Using the tool on a more daily basis it's clear how weak it really is. I only work in wood and mostly with small diameter drill bits. The other day I took my freshly charged 3.0 Ah battery and could only countersink about 10-15 10mm holes before the battery gave up.

I know it's not a new tool and I guess batteries get old even if you don't use them, but come on! It's a Festool, I would expect a little more.

Any point trying to service this tool? I still have a few weeks on the warranty.
Anyone else with similar problems?

Personally I love my old C-12.  If I were you I would send it in if it is still under warranty and you don't think that it is working correctly.

Definitely call Festool.  No sense in not requesting service if still under warranty.

Hi there

On my C12 I experienced "jitter" on the trigger. I sent it in for service and Festool said it was the electronics. According to my Festool rep. it was a known fault on the C12. I got mine sorted for free even that it was close to 4 years old.
As for the power I also think it's a bit weak compared to my other cordless drivers. I mainly use the C12 for lighter jobs like countersink and small screws in furnitures. For heavy work I bring out a 18V 4,0 Amp machine.
