Recomendations filter cleaning?

You mean the HEPA filters?  I don't believe they are cleanable with any cleaner or liquid.  I believe that will destroy them.

Any cleaner that is preferred in order to wash  the heap filters?

DO NOT get the HEPA filters wet!  That will ruin them.  Water makes them swell up and they never really recover.

Really? I heard from the woodcraft dudes to wash them?
Looks like I need a new filter!

Actually do a search. Recommended steps in cleaning vacuum heap filter is to wash with water!!

Again, I wouldn't advise it and just to be sure, call Festool service dept. on Monday for a definitive answer on their filters.

All you should do is tap them on the outside of the CT in the same configuration as they reside in the CT.

Basically, receptive side pointing down so that impulse and gravity clear them.

Much more can be too much.

Thanks for the replies guys!  [smile]

I guess I might need to buy a new one. I have 2 and have washed both of them with the K and N auto car cleaner. [tongue]

OUCH.... Water used...and cleaners.... not good [eek].  Use compressed air (be careful of how many PSI you are set to) backwards to the normal flow of air through the filter. You will extend the useful life of the filter but never fully clean it off all particulates at the HEPA level.  Once when a worker installed the bag wrong or it somehow was punctured. The CT22 was full of sheetrock dust. I blew them out the HEPA filters and found them good to go…. But did buy new filters and use the old ones only when not working next to the black baby grand piano. Yea….that happens in my market…. I just wish I had taken a picture of the bust of Beethoven sticking out of the wall... LOL. Nope, I don’t know how it happened and didn’t ask… LOL

Cheers,
Steve
