Would other owners please share your recommendation for the length of guide rail I should purchase to cut the length of 4x8 foot sheets of plywood to allows space for the saw at the beginning and end of the cut.  The two options seem to be 106 inches and 118 inches.  Do I need to get the 118 inch length or will the 106 inch length be long enough.  Thank you for taking time to reply.  Regards,  Bruce W

I believe the 106 will work with the TS55 but if you have the TS75 then you will want the 118".  I have the TS75 and he 118 is nice for the long cuts.

Exactly what i wanted to say, thats exacly right. Longer wont hurt unless ur in a tight area.

I have found that the
118"/3000mm works best for 96" cuts
75"/1900mm works best for 48" cuts

Both will give you enough room at both ends for the saw to stay engaged with the guide on the track before and after the cut without being too picky about getting the rail placed just right.

I have 2 x 1400 + 1 x 3000

I'd swap a 1400 for one size larger in a heart beat, then wither direction of an 8 x 4 would be comfortable.

I have a 2700 and the 3000 and the 2700 will work (barely), but the 3000 is much easier to use.  My observations are exactly as Whitesys stated.

In theory the 106" should work fine.  I have two 55" and it is sufficient.  However, that is for straight cuts.  If you want to do long angle cuts on full size sheets you may opt for the longer rail.

I dont own either, Iuse 2 1400's. But I was thinking about getting the 118" becuae I use the parallel guides.

If ya use the PG's then you will need the extra length

I have the 55", 75" and 118".  I always use the 75" on sheet crosscuts and use the 188" for rips.  Never once felt it was too long.  I feel like the 118 over 106 decision was one of my best.

It helps that I have a very tall garage ceiling (13') and all of the guides hang nicely on the wall.

3000 for the long cuts and 1900 for crosscuts. You won't regret it.

All, I want to thank each of you for taking the time to respond to my question on "recommended length of rail" for cutting 4x8 sheets of material.  It is always beneficial to have an experienced sounding board to bounce questions of when there is a need.  Thanks again.  Bruce W.
