Had a Recon CT 36 show up yesterday with a busted wheel. It must've been broken during shipping as there was a bunch of black plastic bits inside the box. I can't imagine they would've packed it this way.

I've already contacted Recon sales/support.

I'm hoping they'll be able to simply send out a new wheel (spare part) rather than require me to repackage and return the entire unit.

Does anyone know if there's a policy for this regarding spare parts or whole unit returns?

Cheers,
Anthony

A few years ago I received a MIDI I from Festool Recon that was damaged during shipment. It was clearly a used vac and they asked for me to return it. When I received the replacement it was brand new...never used, so you might get lucky. :)

My guess is that they will send the wheel. If there is an official policy it must be internal and not shared out in public. I could see their decision being made on numerous factors such as shipping costs, ease of making the repair, electrical or non-electrical, etc.

I am sure they will take care of you.

My OF2200 from recon came with the wrong baseplate, they just shipped out the right one for me. I had one other minor problem with a tool, but I can't even remember what it was and they also took care of it. When you get someone on the phone, I have no doubt that Festool will make it right.
