Recon tools - the final stretch - 40% off all tools

So when a limited supply of saws come up at 6am EST who's open to take an order?  Is anyone available outside 8-4 hours?

Try emailing an order to your favorite dealer.  I purchased a couple of tools during this sale well outside of normal business hours.

Was that just the first 40% off open till midnight type of thing only though?

People here on the forum have found Bob Marino to be taking orders during and after business hours. For the rest I can't speak to. I wonder are people still under the impression that the list will be updated later today for the west coasters?

There's been a lot of talk over unequal opportunity for recon sales ( this thread ). The site premise is to sell CPO... I'm not serious, just pointing out the irony of that site and this thread.

Got it.

Bob asked me to post the following for him.

Do to a prior commitment I will not available for order taking. You can call my website associate Liz Garger from 1 pm to 6 pm today and tomorrow. Her phone is 516-942-7373.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

What has everyone experienced for shipping/ tracking info on recon orders?

I received an unexpected notice from a dealer with a tracking number that hasn't worked since i got the email on friday. Should I expect the tracking number to register with UPS or should I expect the package arrive before that happens?

I ordered two tools off the original recon sale but don't recall the shipping process.

I wonder how fast the newly-listed recons will move, as they will all be listed at 40% but with no background on whether they would have been previously classified as a 10-, 20-, or 30%-off item.  I likely would have jumped at the Sysport if I knew it was in "10%" condition, but knowing it could have been in the 30% category gives me a little more pause, even at 40% off.

Will be an interesting experiment in psychology!

To clarify, no new tools will be added before Monday. I don't expect anything to be posted until around noon or 1pm Eastern to give west coast customers and dealers an opportunity.

I saw new postings Sunday night before midnight. Festool seems to still be having problems coordinating this event.

At this point, Festool should poll their dealers to see what kind of order backlog has built up. Not much point in posting about 6 track saws if dealers already have 10 requests. They will fill those orders before taking new ones I assume.

I purchased on the 14th, saw a hold on my card later that day. Notice the hold was changed to a charge on the 16th, received my purchase on the 17th. I never received a shipping email, but I really couldn't be happier with that turn-around time given the load they must be experiencing. :)

Me too...I actually received the order before I got shipping confirmation.  Worked out great.

What you saw show up was inventory that was from cancelled orders. No new inventory was added. I would expect to see some new product added around noon - 1pm today (Eastern). As for people being on lunch on the east coast, this is a great example of how, no matter how hard we try, there's no way to do it in a way that's perfect for everyone.

Hi duburban, I have order several tools new and redone from Bob. I normally get a on email notification the day before or of the delivery with a tracking number that doesn't work from Festool, not Bob. Anyways, I've ordered three tools prior to the forty percent and that is how it works. I've ordered three more tools from Bob and when I reieve the email, I will expect same or next day delivery. Hope this helps, Chris

Just want to make sure you know I was absolutely joking about east coasters being out to lunch…

I think your right. A non working tracking number and packages arriving quickly is also what I remember. Our timelines must be similar with you in NH and me in VT.

Just a quick bit of info on shipping.

We are still shipping orders from Wednesday. As you can imagine, there were a significant number of them to pick, pack and ship from early last week. We should get caught up in the coming days.

What?????? Are you saying there were a lot of orders??????  ;)
Seriously though, no biggy here. I'm Father Time when it comes to patience....except when I'm driving. Or at work. Or shopping. Or.....

Thanks for the update.

As an aside, for those of us that ordered through a local dealer and did not receive any tracking info (the salesman didn't ask for my email address), is there a good way to find out if our shipments are on this "slow list?"  I ordered on Wednesday edit: Tuesday night, assuming that it would take less than a week to arrive (Indiana to TX shipping is usually 2-3 days)... but I'm leaving for vacation on Thursday and the last thing I want is a $600 track saw sitting on my front steps for 6 days while my wife and I browse museums in DC.  Thanks in advance!
