Reconditioned Tool Sale

We're looking into possibly reworking how we'll do the sale this year, and I'm hoping to announce something in late spring. (I think people will be very excited about the change, but it's not certain yet. Lots of big questions and logistics to work through.)

Tyler,
It seemed the inventory checking part of the fulfillment was the hard part of this.
Here's a suggestion-
Have a central email address/shopping site that buyer's send a request to.  There's be some way to specify the dealer you want to purchase through.  You'd then send the dealer an OK to invoice the buyer and when paid drop ship the order.

I agree with this suggestion... purchasing from the reconditioned sale can sometimes be tedious and often requires a couple of emails or phone calls to confirm stock and order.  If you can centralize and automate the process... simply click click click and done, that would be sweet!

Having been on "the inside" there have been a LOT of ideas about how administer the reconditioned tool sale in a way that makes it accessible to most customers in an easy way and also fair to dealers. I'm confident Festool will improve the program for everyone the next time around.

I searched the forums and internet and wasn't able to determine whether a reconditioned sale happened this spring.  Could someone tell me whether it had and/or when the next one is anticipated.

Thanks!
David

Nothing announced yet. I am sure they will let us know here on the FOG and their FB page once (if) they decide to do it again...

We should have an announcement within the week. Doing a one-day, on-site sale like this is a big undertaking -- as anyone who stood in last year's line witnessed. We want to look at this from every angle before making a final decision.

There's also a recon project in the works that isn't related to Connect. But if we do a recon sale a Festool Connect, it's definitely an incentive to be there.

Since "the week" has gone by and I have not seen an update - did I miss an update, Tyler

[member=59331]TSO Products[/member] An official announcement has been delayed, but a recon sale at Festool Connect looks highly likely. However, I would not plan to be able to ship purchased tools, and it's not likely that every tool will be available. (But most of the popular tools should be.)

Is there anything in the works for those of us who are not able to attend Connect?

It's OFFICIAL. A limited selection of reconditioned tools will be available for a "charge and carry" sale at Festool Connect 2017. Please note the following:
  • All transactions will be done via a credit/debit card. No cash, checks, etc.
  • There will NOT be an option to ship tools.
  • All reconditioned tools will include a one-year warranty.
  • There will be a limited selection of reconditioned tools available while supplies last.
  • No new tools will be available for purchase a Festool Connect. Recon only.

I'm curious -- for something like a track saw, is it the kit (including the track) that's being sold reconditioned? Or just the saw?
