Red Guide on HK 55 not accurate to true cut line

The reviews I have watched had users saying the red guide on the saw base was dead accurate with the actual cutline.  I think for the price that is what ones expectations should be.  Not sure why but the saw I just bought is close to 1/16" off when following the cut line with the saw base guide.

See the attached images. Is this typical of this saw?

Mine is off as well but i got use to it quickly  It was annoying at first but most sidewinders and circ saws on the market are off as well.
I assumed it would be exact on the HKC but it wasn't. Both my HKCs are off the same amount

After i picked up mine, i went back to the store few days later to get extra blades and happen to see the Festool rep and was told that its how its designed with no additional reasoning behind it

"No additional reasoning"  [big grin]
some initial reasoning would have been good.

I can see being off 1/2-mm but 1/16" seems a bit much.
Maybe the tool has started the conversion to imperial?

Correct, 1/16" Fahrenheit  = 0 mm Celsius. See, there is no offset in metric.

I recently compared the cutline indicator of the HK55 to my cordless and corded Makita saws.. the Makita's are as close to 100% accurate as a carpenter could ask for.
